Every day our people at Sinai Health are doing extraordinary things as we focus our efforts on COVID-19. Captured Caring is a series featuring submissions from our people to provide you with inspiration and encouragement as we care for patients and each other. Have your own story or photo to share? Submit it here.

A man smiling looking at the camera during a video chat. There are books in the background.“Sinai Health’s Cyril & Dorothy, Joel and Jill Reitman Centre for Alzheimer’s Support and Training identified a need for caregivers across the province to ‘check in’ with our clinical team to directly respond to their questions and concerns about caring for a person living with dementia during COVID-19.

Facilitated by Dr. Joel Sadavoy, the Caregiver Check-In virtual care events started in April. To date, 86 caregivers have participated in three events. The next one is planned for Wednesday, August 19 at 2:30 p.m.”

An image showing many different images of hospital employees wearing masks and holding signs with messages related to COVID-19 (Text on signs is too small to read)“Together we took pictures during this COVID-19  period to promote words of encouragement for our colleagues, connection to our patients, and words of wisdom while our faces are covered by a mask. I then created this collage to be viewed by all staff, patients and families on the Mother-Baby Unit.”
