a woman in a power wheelchair looking at a laptop on a table.“We recently received a thank you note and photo of a patient who had a virtual visit at Bridgepoint’s Seating Clinic. Cathy Choi, an Occupational Therapist at the Seating Clinic, is able to visit patients in their homes remotely over the Ontario Telemedicine Network. Cathy helps ensure a new wheelchair is adjusted properly, working well and meeting the patients’ needs. This photo is of a visit in the home of a patient named Layla whose mother, Alison wrote to us, saying, ‘we are thrilled with Layla’s new wheelchair.  She remained seated in it for most of the afternoon which proves it is comfortable for her, and we certainly find it much easier to manoeuvre than her old wheelchair.  We were so impressed with your attention to detail and really appreciate the time and effort you took to ensure the chair perfectly met her needs. Thanks again for making this new experience so positive!'”

A woman holding a baby standing in front of a crib, looking at the camera, smiling.“Dr. Shira Gold, a fourth year resident in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, has been the mastermind behind the hugely successful group called Pregnancy During COVID-19. The group is for pregnant women who are delivering at Mount Sinai and want more information about delivering in a pandemic and support managing any anxiety they may have. Shira has done so much work for the group, all while on parental leave herself -she has a four month old baby at home! I would like to recognize her in honour of World Maternal Mental Health Day, May 6 and thank her for all her hard work and compassion.”
