Visiting Patients at Mount Sinai and Hennick Bridgepoint

Masks are required in patient care areas, patient rooms and waiting rooms. Sinai Health is a mask-friendly environment. We support your choice to wear a mask in other spaces.

Important information for visitors and caregivers

Wear your mask when required.
If you feel unwell, or have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 10 days, do not visit a patient in the hospital.
Do not eat and drink in patient rooms, clinical areas or waiting rooms. If you need to eat or drink, please go to the Food Hall or cafeteria or other public place where masks are optional.
Clean your hands often for at least 15 seconds.

It is strongly recommended that visitors and caregivers stay up-to- date on their COVID-19 vaccines, however Sinai Health will no longer be asking visitors to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination at building entrances.

Visitors must strictly follow hospital protocols. If they do not, they may be asked to leave.

I recently had COVID-19. Can I visit a patient?

If you have been diagnosed with COVID-19, you must wait 10 days after the date of specimen collection or symptom onset (whichever is earlier) before visiting a patient in the hospital as it is a high-risk setting.

Are visitors who have symptoms or who test positive for COVID-19 allowed to visit a patient?

Anyone with symptoms or who is COVID-19 positive should be self-isolating and not visit. Only in exceptional circumstances will case by case allowances be made in partnership with the clinical team and the Sinai Health Infection Prevention and Control team.

Can I bring my own mask?

The hospital will provide you with a medical grade procedure mask when you arrive. Please clean your hands before putting it on and wear it properly in patient care areas, patient rooms and waiting rooms.
