2018 has been another incredible year for Sinai Health System. Our people have been recognized for their hard work, whether maintaining rigorous standards to achieve accreditation or standing out with their time and service contributions. Below is just a snapshot of some stories that highlight all the various ways in our people and network have been recognized.

For the first time since its formation in 2015, Sinai Health  was recognized as one of the Top Employers in the GTA for 2019. Read more about the award here and why Sinai Health was selected here.

Many programs at Sinai Health require regular certification of services and operations. This year was an important year in achieving high excellence for The Rogers Hixon Ontario Human Milk Bank, Mount Sinai Hospital Pharmacy, and Circle of Care. Kudos to everyone across the system for their hard work and dedication in providing exceptional patient care and services.

 

Dr. Jeff WranaFrom cutting-edge research to innovative information services, a number of noteworthy awards were presented to our people in 2018. Read more about Dr. Allan Detsky’s appointment to the Order of Canada, Sandra Kendall’s award as Canadian Hospital Librarian of the Year, Dr. Jeff Wrana’s awarding of the McLaughlin Medal for his pivotal contributions to better understanding the complex network of molecular/cellular pathways that work together to control cells, and Dr. Daniel Drucker’s Manning Laureate Award revolutionizing treatment for short bowel syndrome.

Design plays an important role in patient-centered care and Bridgepoint has been recognized with over 20 awards, including the prestigious Governor General’s Medal in Architecture. Tissue donation

Earlier this year, Mount Sinai Hospital’s Organ and Tissue Donation Committee received an award for achieving the targets set to convert potential organ donors to actual donors. A complex process, this award reflects how well we work with Trillium Gift of Life Network to save lives through organ donation. Our people are the backbone of our services and this year, Sinai Health recognized almost 1,100 people who celebrated two, five, 10 and 40 year milestones.
