Pharmacy Awareness Month wrapped up last week with a successful two-day showcase featuring the great work our Mount Sinai Hospital pharmacy team! Staff and patients were pleased to chat with pharmacists, technicians, and students about how various pharmacy team members collaborate with other health care professionals to ensure safe and effective medication treatment for all patients – big and small! Patients shared stories of their relationship and experiences with pharmacy staff, in hospital and in the community, as well as highlighted their appreciation for the work involved on admission, throughout their stay, and upon discharge to ensure their medications are safe and effective.
The games and trivia (and prizes) were a hit! Pharmacy Scrabble gave patients and staff opportunity to reflect on what pharmacy means to them … Collaborative, Advice, Experts, Helpful, and Safety were common themes.
