In the spirit of the season, people at Sinai Health have come together with their colleagues to make a difference for others. Here are just a few of the initiatives that helped make the holiday season a little bit brighter for those in need across Toronto.

Business, Innovation and Development teamed up with Information Services and gathered items for a gift & toy drive to benefit women and gift drivefamilies who are living at or have recently left shelters. They raised over $500 in cash as well as gift cards, movie tickets and a number of essentials and treats. Thanks to Ellie Cowan and Kristina Poldre for championing the collection!

Team members in the Fetal Medicine Unit collected donations for Share365, who collect the everyday items to help families make it through the year. Thanks to the team!

Every year, The Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute collects warm winter clothing in support of Fred Victor. A big thanks to everyone who made it another successful year!

New Mom DonationsThe Milk Prep Room and Milk Bank collected gently used or new baby clothes, toys, books, baby gear, and diapers in support of The New Mom Project. There was a great showing, and the team was able to gather a number of items that will provide marginalized families with basic baby necessities to get them off to a great and loving start.

For the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine-Section of Anatomic Pathology, this season is all about giving. The department Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine-Section of Anatomic Pathology food driveconducted a food drive, benefiting The Daily Bread Food Bank – something that has become an annual event, dubbed as ““HistoPathology Annual Fund Drive””.
