Tony is President & CEO of Global Edge Investments (GEI), a vertically integrated hospitality and management-based investment company he founded in 1998.  GEI has been involved in over $1.5B in transactions since its inception.

 

GEI was involved in the creation, repositioning, development and ultimate sale of some of Eastern Canada’s most notable hotel transactions, including, Hotel le Germain & Thompson Toronto and Hotel PUR, representing over $200M in transaction value.

 

GEI took an active role in the launch, growth and sale of Wahanda.com and has investments in other tech companies such as, Zoom & Go, PTG, KYC Hospitality SeamlessMD, Zonetail, The Essentialist, Thumbtack, Future Vault, and Fleet Panda as well as Food & Beverage companies - Tequila Tromba, Simply Protein, and Daydream Soda.

 

GEI is also a partner & President, Canada in Crescent Hotels & Resorts, a top 4 North American independent hotel management company operating 120 hotels across the continent.

 

In addition to numerous advisory roles, Tony is currently President, Marriott Owner’s Advisory Council Canada and is the Past Chair of the Board of the Hotels Canada.

 

Tony currently serves on the boards of Mount Sinai Foundation, Birthright Israel Canada and formerly the Design Exchange. In 1998, in partnership with his wife, he created the TORA Foundation which is involved in organizations such as birthright Israel, Sinai Health, Tennis Canada, the Bell Lightbox, the Ontario Science Centre, AIDA (Association of Israeli Decorative Artists), to name a few.

 

Tony attended the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA.

Tony is the 2012 recipient of the Ontario Hostelry Institute Gold Award for Hotelier of the Year.
