Janice O’Born, C.M., O. Ont.

Janice O’Born is Chairman of The Printing House (TPH) Charitable Office. Founded in 1985, the office promotes philanthropy to the staff of TPH and manages the charitable requests the company receives each year.
The Charitable Office is committed to making a positive impact on the communities that support TPH, and beyond, across Canada. Through TPH’s branch system, the office donates printing to a wide range of registered Canadian charities. To date, the Charitable Office has raised and/or donated more than $83 million.
Janice was appointed as a Member of the Order of Canada and the Order of Ontario in recognition of her philanthropy. She has also received the King Charles III’s Coronation Medal, as well as the Queen’s Golden Jubilee and Diamond Jubilee Medals for Volunteerism; among several other awards and recognitions.
Janice’s volunteer work has always been, and continues to be, an important part of her life. Her motivation for volunteering is concern for her fellow human beings — at the end of the day, she wants to know that she did her best by making a difference and helping others help themselves.
Born and raised in England, Janice lived in Australia for several years before immigrating in 1978 to Vancouver, where she met her husband Earle. Now in Toronto, Janice and Earle have two children and two grandchildren.
