Maliyah's Hike

Maliyah’s Hike is back for its 6th annual event hiking 126km and raising funds for the The Rogers Hixon Ontario Human Milk Bank, part of Sinai Health.

After the experience Dylan Riches, daughter Maliyah and his family had in the NICU when Maliyah was born, Dylan wanted to do something to give back. Dylan organized Maliyah’s Hike to raise funds and awareness in honour of the care they received. As the group heads into their 6th year of the Hike, they are setting out to hike 126km, which amounts to two back to back marathons, with a goal of raising $30,000.

The Rogers Hixon Ontario Human Milk Bank dispenses pasteurized donor milk to 54 NICUs across Ontario and Atlantic Canada, reaching more than 1,000 vulnerable newborns each year. The proceeds from the hike aims to support the first phase of the pilot and provide milk for free to 200+ families. This will look like 'Go Home Packs' of bottles provided to families who need the supplement when they are discharged.
