Holiday initiatives by teams across Sinai Health

Every day our people at Sinai Health are doing extraordinary things. Captured Caring is a series featuring submissions from our people to provide you with inspiration and encouragement as we care for patients and each other. Have your own story or photo to share? Submit it here.

In this week’s edition of Captured Caring, our people are spreading warmth and generosity with acts of kindness and compassion for those in need through various charitable initiatives.

Rogers Hixon Ontario Human Milk Bank will be donating to Aid to Women“This year, the Rogers Hixon Ontario Human Milk Bank will be donating to Aid to Women – a charitable organization that collects and distributes baby items to individuals in need. New or gently used winter clothing for 6-18 month olds is in high need this holiday season. We are currently accepting donations, which can be dropped off at the Milk Bank located at Mount Sinai Hospital by Friday, December 22.”

“A heartfelt thank you to the Women’s and Infants’ Health Program nursing team! Together, we achieved a remarkable milestone, donating nearly 3,000 diapers, along with wipes and peri pads, to our community. All collected items were graciously given to the Ronald McDonald House and our local Diaper Bank, ensuring distribution to nearby food banks. Kudos to each unit for their outstanding contributions. Your dedication has made a positive impact on those in need, and we couldn’t be prouder of our collective success.”

11 South elves“The 11 South elves are spreading holiday cheer by sponsoring a family of four from a local church. Our team members pitched in by purchasing wish list items which were beautifully wrapped to be delivered to the family for Christmas. Thank you to Kim M. and Yayoi B. for kindly organizing and bringing this annual heartwarming initiative to life!”

“In support of the Red Door Family Shelter, Medical Imaging hosted an Annual Basket Bonanza, raffling off a variety of coveted gift baskets and event tickets. We are enormously thankful to our many colleagues who have generously contributed to these baskets, giving a less fortunate family a brighter festive season over the holidays.”

“To celebrate the holiday season, the therapeutic recreation team at Hennick Bridgepoint transformed the Marian Walsh Auditorium into a winter woodland. Patients enjoyed the handmade decorations and a musical guest. A patient dressed in his holiday best for the occasion.”
