“Before and after pictures of members of the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Department at the Toronto Corporate Run and Walk 2023. We didn’t actually run in lab coats, but we wanted to represent the lab and Sinai Health! It was a great evening for running/walking along Lake Shore Boulevard.”

Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD) organized a tour for high school students from St. Joseph’s College School in Toronto. The students were able to learn about the department and the steps to cleaning; disinfecting and sterilizing instruments for the operating room. The students were able to see work in action and explore the various career opportunities in this area. Such great passion and energy to a tour to high school students.

Joe Pisani, a secondary teacher on tour with the students commented on being so lucky to be part of the tour and expressed gratitude, “Garry was such a wonderful guide. The students and myself were awed at the amount of knowledge he had, the way he communicated it and connected with the students. I began to feel insecure about my own abilities as I was hanging off every one of his words! Such great passion and energy to a tour to high school students. I know that they felt ‘seen’ and important as Garry really took the time to engage with them. He’s a true educator and we were so lucky to be part of that tour”.
