Presenter: Dr. Alessia Gallipoli MD, MHSc (Bioethics), FRCPC (Pediatrics) Fellow in Neonatal-Perinatal Ethics This presentation will discuss complexities in decision making for complex and premature infants, both before and after delivery. The concepts of the ‘grey-zone’ of decision making and ‘parental discretion’ will be explored as they relate to frequently encountered scenarios in the NICU, along with how the bioethical considerations that arise from these often complicated scenarios can be understood and balanced.
