Elizabeth Buller
Elizabeth M. Buller, ICD.D, is a health-care executive and board director with more than 30 years of leadership experience across Ontario’s academic and community health sectors. A registered nurse by training, she has led complex health-care organizations through transformation, integration and strategic growth.
Most recently, Ms. Buller served as President and CEO of St. Joseph’s Health System, a $1.5-billion integrated health network encompassing acute care, long-term care and community services. Previously, she was President and CEO of Scarborough Health Network, where she led the integration of three hospitals serving more than 750,000 residents, and President and CEO of St. Joseph’s Health Centre Toronto, where she helped establish Unity Health Toronto.
Her areas of expertise include governance and board effectiveness, quality and patient safety, enterprise risk management, financial oversight, health system integration, strategic transformation, stakeholder engagement and government relations.
Ms. Buller holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors, a master of health administration from the University of British Columbia, a master of arts in leadership from Royal Roads University, and a bachelor of science in nursing from McMaster University. She is a recipient of the WXN Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award.
