Research

We lead through innovation to create breakthroughs for better health.

Our research

Sinai Health integrates world-class research and clinical care to transform health and improve lives through discovery, collaboration and innovation.

Scientists, clinicians, trainees and innovators work side by side to take on urgent health problems. We are known around the world for our expertise in women’s and infants’ health, cancer and inflammatory conditions, among other key areas. What we learn leads to better diagnostics, treatments and models of care.

What we do

  • Discovery and translational research: We study the biological processes that enable the body to grow and function and how they go awry in disease. We apply this knowledge to improve health through precision medicine, genomics, proteomics and data science.
  • Clinical and disease-focused research: Our teams lead research on diseases to create better diagnostics, treatments and models of care across different clinical areas of care.
  • Population health, health systems and implementation research: We study how populations, communities, services, policies and practices impact health.

Our partnerships

As an academic health sciences centre affiliated with the University of Toronto, we build local and global partnerships with governments, academic institutions, industry, donors, communities and patients. Together, we advance and improve care through shared learning and innovation.
