Dr. Gillian Wilde-Friel
Gillian is a highly experienced nursing leader currently serving as Director of the Mount Sinai Academic Family Health Team, overseeing operations across two sites. She manages strategic, operational, and financial activities in ambulatory health, wellness, and primary care services while ensuring compliance with hospital standards. Her role includes directing short- and long-term planning, fostering collaboration among medical directors, staff, and leaders, and ensuring quality care and operational efficiency.
With a background in emergency nursing and healthcare management, Gillian previously served as Patient Care Manager for the Emergency Department at Mount Sinai Hospital. In that role, she managed a large budget, led quality improvement initiatives, and helped guide her team through significant challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic. Her leadership extends to academic and research collaborations, driving advancements in care and engaging staff in continuous quality improvement.
Gillian’s extensive experience in healthcare policy, leadership, and patient care is complemented by her active participation in committees and professional organizations.
