Marking five years in our Bridgepoint Campus

Marking five years in our Bridgepoint Campus

It’s hard to believe that Saturday, April 14 marks the five year anniversary of our patient move to our new state-of-the-art facility at our Bridgepoint Active Healthcare Campus.

Thanks to the countless hands of staff, physicians and volunteers, we safely moved over 340 patients and 10,000 pieces of equipment in under 8 hours, to the new clinical space that was designed to meet the specialized needs of our complex care and rehabilitation patients.

I know for some members of our Bridgepoint team, that day feels like it was yesterday. The successful move of our patients was the culmination of years of planning and dedicated teams who worked tirelessly to ensure every department and clinical unit was ready for day one operations. At the time of the move in 2013, I was Vice President of Programs, Services and Professional Affairs, and Chief Nursing Executive at Bridgepoint and had the opportunity to work with the redevelopment, operations and clinical teams to plan the building and the move. We worked diligently together with front-line staff to ensure that we had the operational and clinical processes in place to deliver safe, high quality care from the minute we moved in.

Reflecting on the move this week makes me think of our current Phase 3A redevelopment project at our Mount Sinai Campus. With work well underway and a new patient space opening this month on the 20th floor, I’m inspired by the expertise surrounding this project – from a redevelopment, clinical and operational perspective. Five years from now we will be marking the completion of Phase 3A with new state-of-the-art operating rooms, Intensive Care Unit, Emergency department, and ambulatory care clinics. I look forward to celebrating with you then as we did back in 2013.

Regards,

Jane
