Overview
Dr. Rory Windrim is a professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Head of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Toronto (U of T), a practising maternal-fetal medicine physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Mount Sinai Hospital, and a senior scientist in the Clinical Research Group at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, part of Sinai Health.
Dr. Windrim earned his medical degree from Trinity College Dublin before moving to Canada, where he practised as a rural physician in Newfoundland. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynaecology at Memorial University, then earned a Master of Science in clinical epidemiology while on staff there as an obstetrician-gynaecologist. He went on to complete a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at U of T and joined Mount Sinai as a staff perinatologist.
His career interest has primarily been in fetal medicine. He has been actively involved in clinical care, teaching and research in this area.
