Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital Palliative Care Unit

We provide around-the-clock specialized care for people with life-limiting illness. Our focus is on providing relief from the symptoms, pain and stress that comes with living with a serious illness.

People come to us from both home-care and acute-care hospitals. Some people stay for a short time to get help with difficult symptoms, and then return home, and some people stay for end-of-life care.

What to expect

Our Palliative Care team will meet with you and your caregivers soon after you arrive at the unit to get to know you and talk about how we can support your needs.

We believe in a personalized and holistic approach to care, including:

• Pain and symptom management
• Psychological, emotional and spiritual support
• Support and guidance as you make decisions around your care 

Our Palliative Care team works together with other health-care professionals including physicians, nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech language therapists, recreation therapists and spiritual care providers.
