Anatomic Pathology
The Anatomic Pathology division processes and analyzes diagnostic specimens for patients receiving care at Sinai Health. These include tissues or cells obtained through surgery, biopsy or fine-needle aspiration.
The division includes diagnostic services under surgical pathology and cytopathology that support the delivery of precision medicine. We also perform autopsies.
Our academic faculty reviews diagnostic materials from other institutions for patients seeking a second opinion or for therapy.
We also provide consultative services to other pathologists seeking diagnostic guidance for challenging entities.
Our physicians and our technical and administrative staff are committed to making accurate diagnoses. We communicate results clearly and promptly to help guide treatment and support training for the next generation of laboratory professionals.
Physicians requesting pathology consultations are asked to complete the request form and fax it to Pathology and Laboratory Medicine consultation services at 416-586-8628.
Clinicians who wish to receive reports by fax should complete the fax agreement form.
