Our respiratory therapists teach patients with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) about their condition and how they can improve their health and quality of life.
What to expect
At your first appointment, you will meet with a respiratory therapist to discuss your condition and any concerns you may have. The respiratory therapist will answer your questions and provide you with advice.
Topics that may be discussed during your appointment include the following:
- How to control your asthma
- Ways to manage your COPD
- How to properly use your inhaler
- Strategies to avoid or reduce exposure to common asthma or COPD triggers
What to bring
- Health (OHIP) card or valid health-care coverage
- A list of your current medications
