Smoking Cessation Clinic
We counsel and support patients who want to quit smoking or reduce how much they smoke.
What we do
Quitting smoking is essential to improving your lung health, having good outcomes from treatments, and recovering effectively after surgeries, particularly if you have a respiratory condition such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
What to expect
At your first appointment, you will meet with a respiratory therapist to discuss your goals. The respiratory therapist will help you identify strategies to help you quit smoking or reduce how much you smoke.
Topics that may be discussed during your appointment include the following.
- Making a plan to quit smoking
- Coping strategies to deal with stress
- Managing nicotine cravings
What to bring
- Health (OHIP) card or valid health-care coverage
- A list of your current medications
