Chronic Scrotal Pain Clinic
We specialize in complex chronic scrotal content pain.
What we do
Chronic scrotal content pain (CSPC) is pain in the scrotum that lasts for more than three months and interferes with your quality of life.
Our specialists treat adults from across Canada who need specialized and advanced care for CSPC. Most of the patients we see have scrotal pain that did not respond to initial treatment.
What to expect
Your first appointment with our CSPC specialists will be by telephone, followed by an in-person visit at our clinic.
Telephone appointments are booked in two-hour time slots, and you can receive the call at any point during this window. The call can come from “Mount Sinai”, “Unknown,” “Private” or “Blocked.”
During the phone call, we will discuss your medical history, symptoms and a plan of care. Tests or prescriptions may be ordered based on this phone discussion.
During your in-person visit, you will meet with a specialist to talk about your symptoms, ask questions and have a physical examination. The specialist will work with you to develop a treatment plan that is specific to your needs. Treatment may include any of the following:
- Medication
- Pain relief measures such as spermatic cord blocks
- Surgery
Our CSPC care team will tell you ahead of time if you should expect a procedure during your appointment.
Please note we are a teaching hospital, so you may see medical students, residents or other medical trainees as part of your care. Learners are supervised by other members of our dedicated health-care team who work together to provide you with comprehensive care.
What to bring
