Dr. Michael Catapano

Dr. Michael Catapano is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician with fellowship training in sports medicine and ultrasound and fluoroscopic-guided procedures. He earned his medical degree from McMaster University and completed a five-year residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Toronto.  

Dr. Catapano furthered his expertise with a prestigious Harvard sports medicine fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Spaulding Rehabilitation Network. During this fellowship, he acquired advanced skills in non-operative techniques for sports medicine injuries and ultrasound and fluoroscopic-guided procedures.  

As a sports medicine physician, Dr. Catapano has had the pleasure of working with renowned teams such as the Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, New England Revolution, New England Patriots and several semi-professional teams and universities, including Harvard University and Northeastern University.  

His practice specializes in the non-operative management of sports and musculoskeletal conditions, with a focus on ultrasound diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. He utilizes advanced techniques involving corticosteroid, prolotherapy, hyaluronic acid and platelet-rich plasma.  

Dr. Catapano also provides care at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Holland Orthopaedic and Arthritic Center where he treats patients with sports injuries and high-energy traumas resulting in pain and injuries to muscle, tendon, bone and nerve.
