"As a teaching hospital, Sinai Health prepares students to become employees, instead of simply viewing them as temporary and the attention to employee retention is evident. I began my career here as a nursing student during my second year of university and felt like I was treated as part of the organization from the start. Afterwards, I applied for a job as a Ward Clerk on the NICU, where I worked during my third and fourth year of university. Upon graduation, I was offered a job as a Registered Nurse on the same unit, illustrating how Sinai Health offers young people starting their careers opportunities to advance within the organization. As a side note, like many people in the GTA, I was born at Mount Sinai Hospital so I’ve progressed from a Sinai Health baby to a Sinai Health employee."
