Overview
Dr. Jodi Shapiro is an obstetrician-gynaecologist at Mount Sinai Hospital and an assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto. She provides comprehensive obstetrical and gynaecological care, with expertise in office gynaecology, colposcopy, cervical cancer screening and prevention, the management of cervical dysplasia, and minimally invasive gynaecologic surgery, particularly hysteroscopy. She is Director of the Colposcopy Clinic at Mount Sinai and Regional Lead for Cervical Screening and Colposcopy for the Toronto Central Regional Cancer Program.
Dr. Shapiro is committed to compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centred care and to helping patients make informed decisions about their health. Her clinical interests include cervical cancer prevention, quality improvement, and advancing safe, high-quality care for women.
For more than 25 years, Dr. Shapiro has taught and mentored medical students, residents, fellows, and practising physicians. She is an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and her research and quality improvement work has helped improve obstetrical and gynaecological care across Canada.
Dr. Shapiro has held numerous provincial and national leadership roles, including Chair of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada’s Ethics Committee. She is dedicated to advancing women’s health through exceptional patient care, education, research, and innovation.
