Overview
Dr. Lisa Allen is a gynaecologist and surgeon who specializes in the care of individuals with variations in sexual and reproductive development. She earned her MD from the University of Western Ontario in 1992 and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Toronto (U of T), followed by a clinical fellowship in advanced gynaecologic and minimally invasive surgery at Women’s College Hospital in 1998.
In addition to her role in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Mount Sinai Hospital, Dr. Allen is Section Head of Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology at the Hospital for Sick Children and holds cross-appointments at Women’s College Hospital and University Health Network. She is also a full professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, U of T, where she serves as Chair of the Promotions Committee.
Dr. Allen is an active administrative contributor to the medical community. Her current contributions include serving as a member of the Disorders of Sexual Development Special Interest Group and the Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship Committee for the North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology (NASPAG).
