Overview
Dr. Stefania Ronzoni is a maternal-fetal medicine specialist at Mount Sinai Hospital and an associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto (U of T). She focuses on improving outcomes for pregnant individuals with high-risk pregnancies through clinical research, evidence-based practice and interprofessional collaboration.
Dr. Ronzoni's research centres on the prevention, diagnosis and management of spontaneous preterm birth. Her work spans preterm prelabour rupture of membranes (PPROM), cervical insufficiency, intra-amniotic infection and inflammation, and precision approaches to identifying pregnant individuals at increased risk. Her grant-supported program brings together clinical trials, translational research and implementation science to develop novel diagnostic tools, biomarkers and therapeutic strategies. She also has expertise in obstetric ultrasound, early pregnancy assessment and cervical length screening.
A clinician-scientist, Dr. Ronzoni has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and collaborates with investigators across Canada and internationally. She is actively involved in the education and mentorship of medical students, residents, fellows and graduate trainees at U of T.
