Dr. Chaim Bell
Physician-in-Chief
Our research focuses on health services delivery, patient safety, and healthcare policy. Our findings have contributed to improvements in drug and healthcare policy.
Our research findings have made major contributions to understanding care and outcome differences in hospitalized patients depending on the day of the week, and continuity of patient care between hospitals and the community. We also helped establish quality measures to assess this issue as well as improvement interventions. Several recent publications have focused on improving the quality of end-of-life care
We have also been involved in dozens of projects at the provincial and national levels related the formulation and implementation of health policy, including the use of economic tools for health policy in several disciplines. These include examining financial incentives for primary care follow-up after hospitalization as well as assessments for drug funding.
