Improving health before life begins and across generations

We are transforming the way families are supported before conception, during pregnancy, after birth, and throughout early childhood. Our research seeks to improve maternal and paternal mental health, strengthen parent-child relationships, promote healthy early development, and prevent chronic disease by addressing health challenges when they can have the greatest lifelong impact.

Working alongside patients, clinicians, health systems, policymakers, and international collaborators, we develop, evaluate, and implement innovative approaches that improve care in real-world settings. Our work spans collaborative models of care, peer support, digital health, psychological interventions, breastfeeding support, and implementation science, with a strong focus on making evidence-based care accessible, equitable, and scalable. We also investigate how behavioural, social, and environmental influences interact across generations to shape health and wellbeing.

By combining large clinical trials, population health research, implementation science, and global partnerships, we generate evidence that informs clinical practice, health policy, and healthcare delivery. Ultimately, we aim to improve the lives of women, fathers, children, and families while building healthier communities and healthier future generations.
