Advancing personalized treatment for women's cancers

We are dedicated to improving outcomes for women facing gynecologic cancers, especially ovarian and endometrial cancer. Our research focuses on understanding the biology of these diseases and refining how they are detected and treated. In ovarian cancer, we have explored how genetic mutations like BRCA influence surgical success and long-term survival. We have also investigated new blood-based biomarkers and imaging techniques to better track disease progression and recurrence.

In endometrial cancer, we have helped shift the focus from traditional pathology to molecular classification, which allows for more personalized treatment decisions. This includes identifying specific genetic profiles, like POLE mutations or p53 abnormalities, that predict how aggressive the cancer might be and whether chemotherapy is necessary.

We have also studied the role of robotic surgery, showing it can be safer and more effective for patients with obesity or complex cases. Our work extends to developing innovative tools, like nanoparticle-based imaging agents, to guide surgeons during cancer removal.

Ultimately, our goal is to tailor treatment to each patient’s unique cancer profile, reduce unnecessary interventions, and improve survival rates. Through collaboration and clinical trials, we’re helping shape the future of gynecologic oncology – one that is more precise, compassionate, and effective.
