Black History month at Bridgepoint

February is Black History Month – a time to recognize past and present achievements and contributions of Black Canadians. In recognition of this important awareness month, Sinai Health System’s Black History Awareness Committee planned a number of events.

Black History Month at Mount SinaiThis week, Bridgepoint staff, patients and visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the important health-care contributions and achievements of Black Canadians at an information table, and last week there was a similar booth on display at Mount Sinai.

Sinai Health continues to recognize Black History Month next week. Register for Healthy Ageing 101: Providing Care to Older Black Adults – The Ubuntu Village Program (Event link removed as the event has passed) and hear from Liben Gebremikael, Executive Director of TAIBU Community Health Centre — an organization providing care to the Black community across the GTA. The event will take place on February 20, 12 to 1 p.m. in the Surgical Skills Grand Room (room 247) and will also be webcast to Bridgepoint in room M.126.
