Every day our people at Sinai Health are doing extraordinary things. Captured Caring is a series featuring submissions from our people to provide you with inspiration and encouragement as we care for patients and each other.

On June 5, Sinai Health hosted our annual Education Celebration at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital. Excellence in Education Awards were distributed to 24 exceptional teachers, as well as to two education leaders and two collaborative teams. The event was attended by Sinai Health's leaders and people from all over the organization, as well as nominees, students, team members, and families. Thank you to all of our teachers, preceptors, and those who support learners throughout Sinai Health!

It was wonderful to connect with so many of our people at the People Appreciation BBQ to raise awareness about our upcoming employee engagement survey. The survey, launching this fall, will help us better understand and improve workplace conditions and enhance our physical, psychological and safety culture. The results will allow us to identify opportunities for improvement and strengths to build on across Sinai Health. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to participate in our contest to name the survey and to learn more about this important process!

This was co-organized by junior faculty including myself from Mount Sinai Hospital, Amanda Ricciuto from SickKids, and Parul Tandon from UHN. The symposium highlights basic, translational, and clinical research, fostering collaboration and innovation across institutions.

Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital's Occupational Therapy (OT) practice leader, Meridith McClenaghan, was selected by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists to receive the 2025 Exceptional Fieldwork Teaching Award for Ontario. This prestigious award recognizes Meridith's exceptional and longstanding support of OT education during her career at Sinai Health. During Nursing Week, Sinai Health leaders visited units across the hospital to thank nurses for their dedication to providing excellent patient care every day. This year we made our first Nursing Week visit to the new inpatient Reactivation Care Centre (RCC). The 16-bed unit, which opened in August of 2024, provides specialized care focused on reintegrating patients back into the community. Thank you to the team for the warm welcome!
