Smoking Cessation
We help patients succeed in quitting smoking.
What we do
The smoking cessation program is available to patients of the Mount Sinai Academic Family Health Team who would like to quit smoking.
Quitting smoking is an important step in improving overall health and well-being.
Our program offers counselling by a TEACH-trained smoking cessation nurse who provides support to help patients permanently give up smoking.
If you are pregnant and want to quit smoking, we provide a supportive, non-judgmental approach that takes into consideration the unique challenges of pregnancy. We will work with you to develop a tailored approach to help you quit smoking in a way that suits your needs.
This program is only available to patients of physicians at our Toronto site
What to expect
At your first appointment, a nurse will help you choose a smoking cessation aid, set a quit date and make sure you are prepared to stop smoking when that date arrives.
We provide support during your first few weeks as a non-smoker and strive to help you remain smoke-free. We also offer follow up-appointments for support and counselling that is tailored to your needs.
