Mental Health Court Support
We work with mental health court support workers to assist individuals from ethno-racial backgrounds facing both mental health challenges and criminal charges.
What we do
Our Mental Health Court Support (MHCS) Program offers services to adults from ethno-racial backgrounds facing both mental health challenges and a criminal charge, often as a result of their mental illness.
What to expect
We will work with you and other MHCS workers at the Ontario Court of Justice to connect you with culturally sensitive treatment and community support. Our goal is to reduce instances of reoffending and improve your overall functioning in the community.
Our services include the following:
- A mental health assessment
- Consultation and advice for Mental Health Court at Ontario Court of Justice
- Brief service and case management support
- Court diversion, as appropriate
- Education and advocacy for clients throughout the court system
- Help connect the patient to community services such as housing and financial aid
Catchment area
Our catchment area includes the area from Lakeshore Road to Highway 401, between Warden Avenue and Islington Avenue.
