This session on "Filipino Health-Care Workers: Labour, Immigration and Health-Care Impacts and Movements for Change" will trace the journey from the 1960s migration programs—to the present day, where Filipino workers are central to Canada's health-care sector. Dr. Tungohan will also share research on Filipino workers’ pandemic experiences and how they are currently at the forefront of advocating for progressive social change in health care.
