Every day our people at Sinai Health are doing extraordinary things. Captured Caring is a series featuring submissions from our people to provide you with inspiration and encouragement as we care for patients and each other. Have your own story or photo to share? Submit it here.

The Milk Bank and Milk Prep teams collected menstrual products through the beginning of December and donated them to Twelve Donations. This organization provides menstrual products to shelters, organizations and individuals who cannot afford them. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped to ensure that no one has to go without this basic need during the holiday season and beyond.”

“Due to the pandemic, we couldn’t gather and celebrate as we normally do during the holidays. So, we decided to take the opportunity to help others.
For the past two years, the Social Work team has connected us with a family who is having trouble navigating a cancer diagnosis.
We always ask the family we sponsor what gifts they require for the holidays. The gifts they ask for are ALWAYS for the kids. This year they just asked uniform sweats for each of their three children and everything else in gift cards. The family we sponsored is one of many that will spend their holidays in our hospitals. It’s our way of making a family’s holiday a little brighter for them.”

“Kudos to staff in the Mother Baby Program (High-risk Antenatal unit, Mother Baby unit and Postnatal Ambulatory Clinic) for collecting 135 toys during a recent toy drive for the Salvation Army’s Toy Mountain! Thank you to all who donated and a special thanks to Melanie Lee and Krista Black for organizing.”
