“The Bridgepoint pharmacy team has been preparing COVID-19 vaccine doses for hundreds of our patients over the past few months. More employees are being trained on the process as well.”

Through 16 months, the team at the COVID-19 Assessment Centre at Mount Sinai Hospital worked tirelessly to support the almost 60,000 individuals who came through their doors. As vaccination rates continue to go up and with case numbers continuing in the right direction, the Assessment Centre will close as of July 30. Below are reflections and photos from the team.

“The entire team was in the thick of helping our community in a way that most could not have imagined. I sincerely hope that when they look back on the pandemic, they will know that they played an instrumental role in this great team. I am proud to have worked alongside such amazing individuals.”

“As intense as it has been, I’ve met so many individuals who I would never have met in my many years at Mount Sinai. I feel such pride in our work in helping to optimize care and have seen the best in collaborating with my colleagues. This experience has fostered an even deeper bond in all of us.”

“Our COVID-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) team was an incredible resource to not only our Sinai Health employees, learners and physicians but to our long-term care partners and our community. It takes a village, and the successful establishment and operation of the CAC starting March 19, 2020 was only possible with the support of hospital leadership, the work of many hands and collaboration with our community partners.

The team worked tirelessly for full days, five days a week for 16 months, testing and notifying people of their results as quickly as possible to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In early days they also performed testing in long-term care homes and congregate living settings in the community.

The whole team, including Security, Registration, nurses, physicians, Environmental Services and managers have all set a high bar for incredible service, compassion and teamwork. Thank you to everyone involved for your dedication and excellence.”
