Every day, our people at Sinai Health demonstrate and celebrate our Values of Service, Humanity, Inclusivity and Discovery. These Values build on our Purpose of caring, creating possibilities and offering hope to patients, their families and the community.

Meet Gigi Clark, a unit administrative clerk on 4N at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital. She is committed to living our Value of Service by ensuring high-quality, safe and compassionate care.

As the first person many patients and essential care partners see on the unit, Gigi is always ready with a friendly greeting and a smile, which many have noted has made them feel safe, welcome and at ease. She provides clarity and comfort to patients and visitors, responding with empathy to provide solutions, even in stressful situations.

“I try my best to put myself in other people’s shoes and understand what they are going through and respond with respect, dignity and in the ways I would want to be treated,” reflects Gigi.

She brings the same energy and thoughtfulness to her interactions with her colleagues. As part of her role, she creates the daily nursing schedule and ensures her unit is properly staffed. She has taken it upon herself to help her colleagues find coverage for their shifts and has built strong relationships based on a foundation of trust and compassion.

“I want our patients to receive the best care, so when they leave our unit that’s what they remember. I work to find solutions for our staff, so that their shifts are covered, they are well rested and are able to provide the comfort and care our patients need. Being acknowledged in this way is validation of the work I do to support patients and our team,” says Gigi.

Gigi finds comfort in leaving at the end of the day knowing that she has helped support her team in feeling prepared for their shifts, so that our patients receive high-quality care.
