Mount Sinai Hospital has been ranked the second best hospital in Canada and number 27 globally in Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2026 list, marking the hospital’s highest placement since first being recognized in 2020.

The annual ranking, developed by Newsweek in partnership with global data firm Statista, evaluates leading hospitals worldwide using a comprehensive methodology that includes recommendations from medical experts, patient experience data and quality metrics.

This year’s recognition reflects Mount Sinai’s continued focus on delivering high-quality, compassionate care while advancing research, education and innovation. As an academic health sciences centre affiliated with the University of Toronto, Mount Sinai plays a leading role in advancing discovery and translating research into improved care for patients in Ontario and beyond.

Mount Sinai has been designated with Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada, and is the only hospital in Canada to receive Magnet® recognition for nursing excellence and patient care.

Internationally recognized for excellence in areas of care that include women’s and infants health, cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and emergency medicine. The hospital’s teams work collaboratively across Sinai Health to improve outcomes, enhance patient experience and strengthen the health system.
