“Over the month of February, Sinai Health and Unity Health came together on Zoom to offer a structured interprofessional education (IPE) placement to learners from all five of their clinical sites. Thirty learners representing a variety of health disciplines such as occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, dietetics, and nursing were able to take advantage of this unique virtual educational opportunity.

The four-week program explored the theme Transitions in Care, and was co-facilitated by educators from both organizations as well as a patient partner. A patient from Unity Health and a patient from Bridgepoint each shared their stories of transitioning through the healthcare system as part of the weekly sessions.

Feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive. Occupational Therapy student Mathew Lau commented ‘Thank you to the facilitators for enabling a great collaborative experience among us students and future clinicians. This was a very meaningful IPE project!'”
