What we do
Our midwives, social workers and dietitian offer their ongoing support in the postpartum period. The Family Health Team offers several resources to help as you care for your newborn and yourself.
This program is only available to patients of physicians at our Toronto site.
Parenting support groups
We offer weekly virtual groups for parents. Topics include:
- Emotional wellness/adjustment to parenting
- Infant feeding
- Sleep
- Child development
- Introduction to solid foods
Perinatal mental health
Our perinatal mental health team can provide mental health support during your pregnancy and your first year of parenthood. Learn more about our perinatal mental health services.
Infant feeding clinic
Our midwives and lactation consultant offer ongoing feeding support for all patients of the family health team. We offer phone and virtual appointments, as well as in person appointments in the infant feeding clinic.
Services include:
- Latch assessment
- Breast/chestfeeding management
- Feeding difficulties
- Supply concerns
- Breast concerns (sore nipples, engorgement, mastitis)
- Alternative feeding methods
- Milk expression and storage
- Tongue-tie release referral
- Weaning
