Geriatrics
The Geriatrics team at Sinai Health provides innovative care that helps patients 65 years of age or older stay as active, healthy and independent as possible.
Specialty clinics and services across Mount Sinai and Hennick Bridgepoint hospitals provide physical and mental health care related to aging.
Our hospital services offer recommendations and treatment options for older adults during their hospital stay or following a health crisis.
We also offer home visits through a partnership between SPRINT Senior Care and VHA Home Healthcare. All of our programming has a goal of enabling patients to live a high quality of life at home with the right supports.
In 2010, Mount Sinai Hospital was the first academic health sciences centre in Canada to make geriatrics a core strategic priority. Together, Sinai Health and the University Health Network are leading and innovating in the care of older Canadian adults.
We are fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and our educational programs offer trainees the tools, resources and learning opportunities they need to provide the best care possible for older adults and their caregivers.
