Dr. Ross Upshur recognized with prestigious fellowship
Dr. Ross Upshur, Assistant Director of the Lunenfeld Tanenbaum Research Institute and Scientific Director of the Bridgepoint Collaboratory for Research and Innovation has been elected a Fellow of the Hastings Center, a prestigious bioethics research institute in New York.
Hastings Center Fellowships recognize individuals from many disciplines whose work has shaped our understanding of complex ethical issues in the areas of health care, life sciences research and the environment. Ross is the only Canadian among 18 newly elected Fellows announced last month.
Ross started his medical career as a family physician in a rural practice. His research and scholarship has focused on primary care, public health, philosophy of medicine and bioethics.
In addition to his roles at Sinai Health, Ross is a Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health and was recently awarded the Dalla Lana Chair in Clinical Public Health.
