Rehabilitation

We provide in-hospital and clinic-based rehabilitation for patients recovering from a major illness, surgery or injury.

Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital is a leading provider of rehabilitation. We care for adults whose physical or cognitive function has been affected by stroke, brain injury, orthopaedic surgery or complex medical illness.

Our Rehabilitation program uses a team-based approach. Together with patients and essential care partners, we customize care to meet the unique needs of patients within our services.

Our highly trained physicians, nurses, therapists and other health-care providers work together to care for patients. Our aim is to help maximize their current abilities, gain independence and enhance their quality of life. We focus on helping patients achieve goals that are meaningful to them.

Hennick Bridgepoint’s state-of-the-art building boasts fully equipped gyms and therapy spaces on each floor. It also has landscaped outdoor spaces and a warm, salt-water therapeutic pool overlooking Riverdale Park.

To provide each patient with the care and therapy that meets their unique needs, we offer two therapy programs:

Rehabilitation: Patients in this high-intensity program have more frequent therapy sessions over a shorter duration of time.

Reconditioning: Patients in this program benefit from a less intensive rehabilitation experience and more time to heal from their injuries.

As a research and teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto, we strive for excellence in care and discovery while training future leaders in rehabilitation medicine.
