Cancer
The Chris Hugh Sharp Cancer Centre is home to one of the largest cancer programs in Ontario.
Our interprofessional teams are experts in the detection and treatment of many cancers, including head and neck cancers, breast cancer, sarcomas, gastrointestinal cancers, peritoneal surface malignancies and others.
Mount Sinai Hospital is committed to patient-centred, compassionate cancer care. We work closely with patients to offer support and resources throughout their cancer care. This includes access to a full range of leading-edge treatments, including innovative drug therapies, specialized surgeries and other targeted therapies.
We perform hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC), a combination of surgery and chemotherapy that has become the standard of care for certain abdominal cancers.
Our cancer researchers are dedicated to making discoveries that help prevent cancer and improve diagnostic tests and treatments. We try to match patients to studies of new cancer treatments that show promise for better outcomes.
We are fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and partner with Princess Margaret Cancer Centre to provide specialized treatment. Our centre also trains future leaders in cancer care and research.
